Sisters Of STEM emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support everyday girls in our community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2020, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.

OLIVIA ZHEN
Founder & President
Nice to meet you! I'm Olivia from Dallas. I founded Sisters of STEM in hopes of reducing gender disparities by bridging the gap between the humanities and the sciences. Diversity in STEM is crucial whether it be by gender or otherwise. In my free time, I love making vases, catching up on New Girl, or hitting the local ice rink!

Hey guys! My name is Arushi and I am currently a senior at Liberty High school. I joined this organization because, as a girl going into the medical field, I have witnessed the tragic experiences of bright women not receiving the opportunities they deserve. I hope that through this club, you can learn more about the STEM field and gain the confidence to pursue it

I am part of the graduating class of 2022 at Mira Costa High School in the greater Los Angeles area. STEM subjects like biology and engineering are fascinating to me, and I am really interested in fields like biomedical engineering and environmental engineering. In addition to my work here, I am also part of Diversify Our Narrative in my school district, and I am on my school’s varsity basketball team and orchestra. I also enjoy singing karaoke and eating Korean barbecue with friends and family.

I’m Alyshba Ahmed. I'm a 17-year-old from New York City who’s passionate about all things tech, particularly graphic design and web development. I’ve been an avid proponent of women's rights since a young age and enjoy getting involved with organizations like Sisters of STEM that encourage all communities to feel included in the professional world. Outside of coding, I love writing, painting, and exploring my neighborhood with my loved ones.
